Onyx Sold
On the way in to work today the phone rang and that quick Rachel's colt Onyx sold. The deposit was sent by paypal but he won't be picked up until spring. The owner wants to board him at the Horsemeister farm after weaning. Work was frustrating today. UPS World ship closed our account down until we downloaded the new version. The old computer didn't have enough memory to download the new version. After working for 2 hours trying to get the old version off the computer, I was ready to give up when Katie Hofstetter came to drop the Bibles off from Skylines and pick up another 10 boxes. As she is a teenage I was sure she could figure out what was needed and yep, within 20 minutes the old was gone and the new installed. What is it with kids nowadays? How did they get so smart?
The studies weren't dropped off at Eva Jean's until after 1:00pm. She didn't come in today, she was helping with her grand daughters wedding preparation. Samantha and Seth's wedding is Sunday. A planned quick trip to Walmart for a few necessary items didn't turn out so quick. I ran into Cheryl Grassi and then Martha Kay.
Karin showed up as I got home and started training. First out was Ribbon. She is working on getting her fit for Bethany and Hannah Reinhard. They want to do a canter Kur.
Karin is asking her to canter a bit longer each time. She actually has a nice canter. Once she was done she was just let loose to graze. Hadassah was brought out next. We were both pleased with her behavior. Karin asked her to bend, move away and back up.
Hadassah excepted everything that was asked of her. While she was being worked, we see Ribbon looking in the barn window.
She was actually telling us she was ready to go in, when we didn't move to put her away she walked over to the breeding shed and let herself into the paddock.
Next out was Lilypony. Now she was a bit naughty. At one point she emphatically told Karin, "no, I'm not going to back up!" and threw herself onto the ground, but soon she submitted and ended on a very good note.
What a gorgeous pony! Ciera was the last horse Karin pulled out to work. Ciera is improving by leaps and bounds. She remembers what Karin asked of her the last time and builds on it. Do I sound like I'm bragging a bit?
Karin headed over to Rachel's for grilled chicken. Jozsof showed up as we were finishing dinner and started marking the holes on the fence line. Mark got the skid steer out and started drilling while I hooked up the trailer, pulled it into the field and started putting the posts by each hole.
The Moser's picked up Airiah and Shawdow from UofI. They dropped Airiah off here for a breedback to Raven. Below is Their adorable filly by Raven named Shadow in the back of the trailer with Airiah in the front.
The trip is about 2 hours and Shadow let them know she was ready for a meal.
She is so smart learning how to drink out of a pan so quickly. It really is a shame they couldn't get Airiah to accept her lovely filly.
Airiah was led over to Raven. He was very pleased to see her again.
Airiah remembers! After the Moser's left I headed back out to work, we worked until we ran out of daylight.
Another LONG day!
