Hay Cut
On the way in to the office this morning this moth was sitting on the loading dock in front of our door.
We had to stop and admire the colors and size of it, it probably wasn't long for this world, very lethargic and out in the daylight.
Eva Jean and I had no number 10 envelopes to finish the studies today. Eva Jean had to take them home to finish processing them before handing them out to the graders. We will order another 10,000 of them. We just seem to go through that amount more and more quickly. As we were leaving Denny's after lunch we had to take a picture of the car below. Talk about unusal, none of us had seen a car like that before, it looked like a VW bug from behind.
Ryan Smith called and wanted permission to cut the hay fields today. We were hoping today would be the day, we had bright sunshine a nice breeze and low humidity. By the time I arrived home from work the tractor was just arriving to start on the fields.
Braelyn came home with me today. We took the golf cart over to Diane's to play with Irelyn but Irelyn was taking a nap so just played on the deck.
Anna arrived to pick up Braelyn and must have passed Mark on the road. He pulled in with the new skid steer tool just as she pulled out. Mark bought an auger for the big fencing project we have planned. We had to put it together and try it out right away.
It worked great, below he is heading into the barn to put it away until needed.
About that time I realized we couldn't hear the tractor and mower running. The golf cart was taken over to Rachel's to see if that field was finished, not only was it not done, the tractor was no where in sight. By the time I arrived back at our barn, there it was the mower being taken apart. He ran over a furniture spring over in Rachel's field and messed up the mower. He needed to wait for help to get the spring out of the blade.
This put them back by about an hour but no permanent damage was done. After dinner Mark started moving round bales. He moved one in Raven's paddock, one in the mare paddock and one in the breeding shed, then moved all bales from the left side of the barn over to the right side to make room for the new bales once the hay is up.
Zalena was calling tonight to Raven and may be coming back into season. Dr. Hoerr's office was called to make an appointment for Friday morning. We want him to ultra sound her and if she is ready to ovulate, collect Raven and AI her.
