So MUCH Rain

It was raining pretty hard most of the night and this morning when we awoke but slowed down to a sprinkle for our walk. Mom made the entire round today on the walk. Doing the hill to Joan's back up to the dumpster over to my place, Diane's and back to her house. We were all pretty pleased, that would never have been possible before her heart shocking.  I left for the Peoria post office to pick up the Berean mail after the walk and by the time I got back it was raining again. It is almost like living in a rain forest. The workers arrived and even though it was raining continued work on the barn. I was surprised their trucks didn't get stuck in the field, with so much rain the ground is very soft. They probably all have 4 wheel drive and left quite a few big ruts.  The airbnb guests sent a message asking for late check out. After checking with Anna they were told they could stay until noon. Indy and her filly were brought out of the stall and put in the indoor arena so I could get a few pictures for the filly's owner. She is 2 days old today.

She is learning to use those long legs.

The rain slowed down to a trickle so they were taken outside for some better pictures. Check out those long eyelashes in the picture below.
She bent down to taste the grass but didn't like it.
She was busy scratching an itch when the rain started back up.
They were taken back inside, the stall cleaned and then left in the indoor.  Dr. Hoerr arrived to check over the filly and give me two short cycle shots, one for Oksana and one for Jewel. Oksana was given her shot today then moved over to the field by Evan's paddock to see if she would show.  Jewel will get her shot in a few days. We need to use Evan for both of these mares so didn't want them cycling at the same time. Anna arrived at noon to clean the apartment but the guests had not yet left. They got in so late last night it was hard for them to get moving. She was finally able to get in and start cleaning about 12:15 pm. The next guests sent a message that they would be coming in around 4:30 pm so there was time to get everything done.  They arrived as I was moving Indy and her filly into the field with Oksana and mentioned they had stayed in the Hobbit House on the way out and now the barn on the way home, AND they knew the Hobbit House is owned by my sister Rachel. The rain had finally stopped for the day. Below are a few pictures of Oksana, Indy and her filly with the new barn in the background.

Indy had to lay down for a roll.

Oksana and Dana were moved over to the cabin field now that the storms are done. Indy and her filly were left out for the night. It isn't very muddy in the field and Indy's loves the grass.  We will be having an early night.
