Dr. Hoerr stopped first at Ralph and Jamie Stones place to ultrasound their mare Dakota. She should be ready to breed next Wednesday so they made arrangements to bring her that day after the farrier leaves their place. Jamie sent me a text when Dr. Hoerr was on the way here which gave me time to bring in Brandee's mare Lilly, Hadassah and her filly, Anna and her colt and Ayanna and her colt. Rhoda and Sarah arrived right before he came and helped with the mares. Brandee's mare was sonagrammed first and we are pleased to announce she is pregnant.
She was bred to Valiant and is due April 6th, 2019. That is going to be one spectacular foal! Her owner was sent a text and she responded they will be here tomorrow evening to pick her up. Dr. Hoerr's next job was to look at Ayanna's colt. This colt had a swelling on his jaw. I thought he may have been kicked but Dr. Hoerr thought it may be an infected tooth. He was given an antibiotic shot now and will need another in 3 days.
Hadassah's filly was next. We wanted a coggins drawn on her. She was haltered and tied and was very well behaved for the pictures Dr. Hoerr took AND the needle stick to draw blood. Hadassah was sonagrammed and we are thrilled to announce she too is pregnant due April 5th, 2019
She was bred to Evan. Hadassah is a Raven daughter and has given us 4 pitch black 75% Friesian foals and now she is expecting her 5th. She has extreme movement and throws this in her foals. The next job was to draw blood on Anna's colt, Luka, for his coggins test. He too was haltered and tied and very well behaved. Dr. Hoerr took one look at him and said, "You should keep this one!" He really is that impressive. Anna was the last mare sonagrammed and she too was pronounced pregnant. Anna is due April 2nd, 2019. She was bred again to Valiant. We sure don't want to mess with a good thing as each of her foals by him are amazing.
By the time Dr. Hoerr left it was after 1:00 pm so Rhoda, Sarah, Zion and I went to the Warehouse for lunch. Sarah's puppies had an appointment at Malabar Vet clinic to have their dew claws removed so Rizzy's 6 puppies and Arietta's 2 puppies got checked over by the vet and were all pronounced healthy. Since they were all here we got updated pictures of them for the website. Below are Rizzy's 6 Cavapoo puppies
Above are the 2 female Cavapoo puppies and below are the 4 male Cavapoo puppies.
These are for sale for $1300.00 each and if interested you would need to contact Sarah directly. They will stay small around 12 pounds and are wonderful family dogs. If interested in seeing more pictures of the Cavapoo puppies click HERE. Arrieta only had 2 puppies but these are very special. They are Maltipoo puppies and will not shed. She had 1 female and 1 male puppy.
These are also for sale for $1300.00. If interested in seeing more pictures of these puppies click HERE.
Rhoda helped me load up Anna and her colt Luka in the front of the stock trailer and Missy and her filly by Evan and those 4 were taken to Middle Grove. Karin was going to head that way once she was done with work for the day to check on them and to spray them down with the tick spray we mixed up. She called when she was on her way home to report the spray worked great. She went through an entire bottle but all the horses got sprayed down.
Joan needed the truck and trailer to pick up some furniture in Bloomington for her daughter Kristin. As soon as I got back from Middle Grove the truck and trailer were taken to Joan's. She had just gotten on the road when the brakes went out in the truck. It looks like we blew a brake line. She brought it back, we hooked the van up to the stock trailer and she was back on the road without the loss of too much time.
This evening Ayanna was teased and covered by Evan then Lily teased and covered by Valiant. Both mares stood well. Next I went in to clean the stalls from when Dr. Hoerr was here and was very pleasantly surprised to see them done. Rhoda and Sarah must have done those after I left for Middle Grove. Madeira and Marika were brought in for the night. Madeira is not waxing but we have storms predicted tonight and I'm not taking any chances as this is a first foal for her. Marika is one of the most tidy mares in a stall we own so I never mind bringing her in.
Thankful for another good day.
