A FILLY!

I had the monitor on loud but kept drifting off to sleep and at 10:45 pm heard a noise that woke me. At first my mind was trying to compute what I was hearing and by the time I looked Jewel was already giving birth.

We are thrilled with this birth, a big all black FILLY! Exactly what we ordered last year. 

 The filly is strong and healthy

It didn't take her long once she figured out how to stand, where to find the milk bar. It took a bit longer to figure out how to latch on but by 11:45 pm I felt comfortable enough to leave as she was rooting at the right place. I've been watching on the monitor and can see she is nursing well. Amazing I'm heading to bed 1 minute before midnight!
