Rosaleigh and her 2 day old filly were put in outside in the pasture this morning as the weather was a bit cooler but by afternoon they needed to be brought inside. That black hair on a new foal just soaks up the heat and they can easily be overheated. They were brought inside, the trailers hooked up and moved out of the way of the farmer's tractors as the farmer was suppose to arrive today to cut the hay fields. The hay did not get cut though, hopefully they can get here tomorrow as we are to have 3 more days of sunshine before the next wet weather moves in. Zane's called to give me the news that the 2003 truck was fixed. The entire cost to fix the broken brake line and to fix a coil was $544.00. So far I've replaced 5 of the 6 coils, just one to go which will probably need to be fixed next year. It seems we repair one a year. Still it is worth keeping this old work truck running. It is really needed. Mom gave me a ride over to pick it up. I hooked it up to the stock trailer as soon as I got it home then left to pick up Braelyn, her last day of school. We brought Hux over too. Karin last day was also today so as soon as she got here we loaded Galena and Drifter in the front of the stock trailer and Hadassah and Ella in the back of the stock trailer. Below Braelyn and Hux are waiting for us to finish loading.
They were pretty thrilled to get out there. We stopped at Bs on the way home to buy each of us an icecream cone. We plan on taking another trip out tomorrow morning to take out Rosalie, Claire, Marika and maybe Skye. When we got back the trailer was backed into the indoor arena to make it easy tomorrow for loading Claire. It worked so well today with Drifter and Ella. Drifter jumped right in. Ella didn't jump right in, she took some time to sniff the floor then finally stepped in. Both traveled well and stood very well while they were sprayed down with the spray we mixed up to kill ticks before we let them go. Galena started grazing until she saw Hadassah take off to find the herd then she scrambled to catch up. After we got home I snapped the pictures below of Rosaleigh's 2 day old filly for the website.
Hopefully tomorrow I can get better pictures with help. Rosaleigh kept walking right in the way. When Mark got home we worked on our trip plans. His 50 year high school reunion is coming up in Glastonbury, CT. We have decided to drive as plan tickets are just so expensive.
