Middle Grove, Dakota, Farrier, Biosponge

Karin pulled up right after the walk to help load Marika, Skye, Rosalie and her filly Claire for their trip to Middle Grove. All loaded perfectly even Claire. We drove in to the summer pasture and unloaded at the bottom of the hill. The horses were perfectly content to just stick around there and graze on that lush green grass. Karin and I took the truck and trailer up to the top where the herd was all standing around under the trees. Of course Jenis is the first to arrive to greet us. Karin got her sprayed down first. We are having a terrible time with ticks this year so each time Karin goes to Middle Grove we give her a full bottle. It is working but my what a big job.
Luka, Anna's colt came right up to greet us. Missy and Amelia are behind him.
They came up also to be sprayed down.
That is Jenis in the picture below, she is just an amazing mare and one of the favorites around here.
If you would like to see the rest of the Middle Grove pictures click HERE.  We wanted to bring Zalena back, she is due in 3 weeks. She loaded right up.
We checked over all the mares and all are doing well. The last 6 due are Zalena, Roxanne, Wictoria, Indy, Oksana and Tatiana and all are showing their pregnancies. As soon as we got home Zalena was put in the pasture behind Lily's paddock then Karin took the golf cart over to get Cookie for the scheduled trail ride. Today she wanted to take Soul on the trails to help train Soul's colt how to cross creeks. Hannah was willing to ride Jewel and Berlica wanted to ride Cookie.

They all did well. If you would like to see the rest of the trail ride pictures click HERE. After the ride Karin agreed to help get pictures of Rosaleigh's 3 day old filly. This filly is really special, but then Evan is her sire, with his big movement and big hair and Rosaleigh's big movement and big hair this filly is bound to be that fantasy Friesian everyone wants.

If you would like to see the rest of her pictures from today click HERE. After they were taken back to the stall I drove the golf cart and Karin used the weed sprayer and the arena got sprayed again. We are bound and determined to kill any green thing growing in that outdoor arena and are always surprised at how much survives each spraying. The farmer sent a text that the hay will be cut on Friday. The rain was taken out of the forecast for the weekend so it should have plenty of time to dry. Karin helped put a new bale in Evan's paddock and the one next to his.  Ralph Stone brought their mare Dakota over to breed to Valiant. She was taken to the breeding stand as soon as she was off the trailer and Valiant got the job done quickly. Dakota will stay here until she is out.  The farrier arrived right after Ralph left.
I still needed to run to Morton, IL to pick up Biosponge for Rosaleigh's filly. She has some diarrhea and I don't want it to get worse. It is probably from all the med's Rosaleigh was given with that retained placenta.
Mark got home late from work and we barely had enough time to eat something before it was time to leave. Mike Reiker had the message on Joshua 6 (Jerico). He also read chapter 3. It was good to be there. Mark dropped me off at the barn before taking mom home so I could get Rosaleigh and her filly out in a paddock for the night. It is too sunny and hot for the filly to be out in the day time.
Today was busy but so much got accomplished I am thankful.
