Plans changed quickly this morning. I was going to head to Berean and dressed to go there right after the walk but when we got to Joan's house this morning she felt she was getting sick. The stomach flu has been going through her family. It seems to last just 1 day but today Joan got it. Joan was supposed to stay with mom this morning but there is no way we want mom to get the stomach flu so I took her place. Skip was called while we were still on our walk and he agreed to be in charge at Berean. He was already on his way to the post office to pick up the Berean mail. Today mom wanted to start taking down the Christmas decorations. I started to do this but couldn't find the boxes. After looking through the garage and basement could only come up with a few that didn't fit everything.

Change IN Plans
The piece below comes apart but until we found the right box to put it in I didn't think we should start taking it apart.
We stopped for lunch then mom settled down in the recliner. Just then a big bang happened on the patio door. A bird had slammed into the door.
It was knocked out and I thought it might survive but died in my hand. I left when Karin got home to start cooking the chicken breasts that were defrosting since Saturday in the fridge. Today they had to be used. Two of them were used to make a stir fry for our supper and the rest put in a big pot of boiling water to make soup. Dinner was delicious and there is enough left over Mark can take it for lunch tomorrow.
The pot of soup made 12 quarts of very thick chicken and vegetable soup. That was put outside and tomorrow morning will be put in the freezer. This soup will need to have water added so each quart will make a half of a gallon.
Sarah and Nolan's news was the last puppy is now adopted. Gardner Lane Puppies have no puppies available until around May or June. Gardner Lane Puppies include Rhoda's dog Hazel, Taunya's dog Rosie, Anna's dog Pax, the Guardian keeper dogs Willow, Maple and Jewel and of course Sarah and Nolan's dogs Nikki, Maddie and Ivy. All these beautiful dogs and not a single one has a puppy available! Dave and Stef have Rizzy one of the first dogs ever of Gardner Lane Puppies. She was retired and found the best home ever with her boy Israel. Below she has just been groomed by Stef's cousin Monica. Our news was today we booked for our canoe trip June 1st-4th on the Current River in Missouri. We could not book an electric camp site at Montauk state park but were able to book an airbnb home with 3 camper hookups. I spent some time talking on the phone with the owner today and it sounds like we will enjoy the place. He has a fire pit, an acre of flat land that includes a large fenced back yard across the street from the canoe rental place. Ruth and Fedi leave for their cruise tomorrow morning. They fly out of Peoria and should have an easy trip.
