We were up early again this morning and instead of making noise and waking Ruth and Fedi, Mark and I went out to the beach to watch the sunrise and what a show we got. Some of those diving ducks were swimming along the beach diving down to eat breakfast as God was painting the clouds with color.
A lone pelican came flying over and dived for his breakfast.
He popped up with a fish in his large pouch.
After swallowing the fish it took off heading east just as the ducks went back under the water.
The sun broke the horizon and looked like it was melting into the sea.
The sunrise was such a beautiful gift to start the day.
We came in, made breakfast then after finishing that meal Mark left to buy some fresh fish for our supper tonight. Ruth and Fedi left for mom's. I walked over just a little later and arrived when Ruth and mom had just come back from taking Molly for her morning walk. We were standing out on her balcony when a squadron of pelicans came flying by, almost at eye level.Right after they went by the Blue Angels came over. They were escorting a large transport plane.
Below they had delivered that big plane and were heading back to Pensacola Florida to their base.
I mentioned the only thing left to see from the balcony would be to see the dolphins fishing in the gulf, looked down and there they were. There were two people paddle boarding out in the gulf so they paddled closer to the dolphins.
Mark came over with his fishing pole so we walked down to the beach to fish.
Fishing was terrible, not a single bite. I think the dolphins, ducks and pelicans ate all the fish. Joan came down with her fishing pole.
Mom, Beth, Nancy, Berlica, Faith, and Mackenson also came down to play in the sand. Nancy had the best time making sand castles. She worked hard at them walking down to the water, filling a bucket then mixing sand in the bucket.
We all stayed on the beach until after 2:00 pm then I headed in to get a few things done before starting supper. Mark helped snap the beans and grilled the fish. I cooked the green beans and roasted new potatoes for this meal. We ate at mom's condo. Joan supplied the zucchini bread, applesauce, drinks, then brownies and ice cream for dessert. After supper I drove Mark back to the condo and picked up Ruth. We headed back to mom's for games and had a fun evening. Thankful for another relaxing day in the warm sunshine.
