Ruth and Fedi pulled out around 7:00 am for their long trip home. I started laundry, cleaned up a little then cooked breakfast. We left for mom's condo around 9:30 am for church. Before church started we noticed pelicans and gulls diving into the Gulf, and right off the balcony was a huge school of bait fish. The birds were feasting. The school traveled a little too close to the shore and some of the fish got stranded on the beach. People were throwing them back into the ocean.
That dark shadow is all fish. The person in the middle had a net and the fish would move away quickly forming different shapes.
We are really pleased mom bought a bigger condo as we had 30 this morning for church. The Stollers from Nashville (originally from Gridley) were visiting and came for church and the afternoon. Mike Kaisner had the message, following up on David Obergfel's prophecy message last week. Below are a few pictures of just some of the people here for church.
Right after church volley ball on the beach started. Below they are dividing up teams.
They had some good games. They had enough players for 3 teams.
The team waiting for their turn to play had fun with the football.
Daisy May and her brothers had a lot of fun playing on the beach with the Stoller kids.
We watched for a while then headed over to Diane's pool out of the breeze. It was just plain hot at her pool and we all enjoyed getting some vitamin D while laying in the bright sunshine. The football games started at 3:00 pm so we headed back to the beach to watch.
At 4:00 pm I headed back to start supper. IF you would like to see the rest of the pictures from this afternoon and morning click HERE. Mark grilled steak while I made the wild rice, mushrooms, sauteed onions and salad. We headed over to mom's condo with the food. Below Mark is taking the cart of food to mom's door.
Joan was grilling chicken to add to the steak. We feasted! After dinner we played games. Mike came over to work on installing the lighting for the triple bunks. Each bunk now has a power strip with USB ports, plenty of outlets and an led light.
Diane ordered baskets that will go at the head of each bunk for cell phones, wallets and books. The kids are going to love their special room. It was a wonderful day. We all got a little too much sun but how thankful we are for a bright sunny warm day on the 27th of December.
