Funday Monday in Gulf Shores

What a beautiful day! I walked down to mom's condo before sunrise to get pictures of the sunrise off her balcony. That didn't disappoint. From the tinge of gold to the gold edged clouds then the sun rising, the view was gorgeous.

I hiked back home after that show. By 8:45 am I was reading down by the pool in the warmth of the sun. At 11:00 headed over to Lani Kai for the volley ball games.
Beth's grandchildren started coming to the beach and they all had fun playing with Joan's grandchildren.

Greg, Nate and Justin took Bill, Matt, Mark, Joan and a couple grandchildren out on the boat fishing. Below the boat is heading to the pier.
They had a very successful day catching well over 60 fish. They had to throw all the red snappers back, those aren't in season and they threw the blues back as those aren't good eating unless they are cooked immediately. These were taken on the boat by Nate or Justin.

The football games started at 3:00 pm.

Around 4:00 pm I headed in to clean up but soon got a call from Diane that mom fell and they needed bandages. I took the car over to her condo with the first aid kit. Katy was there fixing mom up. Mom was getting the sand off her feet on the board walk, then went to go forward, tripped and really landed hard. She scraped her arm pretty bad but also had gouge on the fleshy part of her broken little finger that looked like it needed stitches. Her face was scraped up and her head was bleeding a little. Katy got her all bandaged up.

The sun was setting as Katy was working on mom so I went out on the balcony with my phone and took these sunset pictures.
All of us girls were supposed to go out to Desoto's tonight but mom decided she wanted to stay home. Heather cooked the meal. IF you would like to see the rest of the pictures from today click HERE.  The boat returned after dark with a cooler full of fish that needed to be cleaned.

It was after 6:30 by the time we were ready to go out to eat and by this time Joan decided to stay home and help with the meal at mom's condo so just Diane, Beth, Mark and I went out to dinner. The food was really good AND because we are old VERY reasonable. Desoto's is one of our favorite restaurants here in Gulf Shores. Other than mom's fall the day was practically perfect. Tomorrow we are having fish for dinner, fancy that!
