Picnic Plans

The horses were fed early and after they had finished their grain I noticed Tori's colt going from bucket to bucket cleaning them out. That boy is hungry! I left right after the walk for Sam's Club, poor Emma had only one day left of dog food before she would run out and we can't let that happen.  I also bought all beef hotdogs, 10 pounds of ground chuck, plenty of buns, 3 bags of potato chips,  salad mix, mushrooms, onions and grapes all for Sunday's dinner at the playground. Mark agreed to grill for that meal. Anyone is invited and Sunday should be a beautiful day. Just bring a dish to pass.  Yesterday on the hike to find the horses at Middle Grove I found some kind of tool thingy that must have dropped off a tractor. That was taken back and put in the back of the car. Today when I put the 35 pound bag of dog food in the back of the car it hit that took thingy and ripped the bag open which spilled the dog food. When I got home the gray tape was brought out first and that bag tapped up then the spilled dog food cleaned up and put in Emma's feed bucket. This afternoon Joshua and Tori's colt were taken into the stall for their second meal. They were put in separate stalls, both boys were fed and then given a good groom.

Above is Tori's colt. Joshua had some burrs in his tail. He stood very patient while those were all removed. His tail is SO thick, bushy and long. The pictures from yesterday of the different foals at Middle Grove were posted on the website today which always takes a while.  Mark got home early from work and went right out to start spreading manure with the newly fixed manure spreader.  He quit at 5:30 pm and came in for supper of broccoli and cheese soup, roasted chicken, salad, cottage cheese and ice cream for dessert.
