Indy Confirmed

The day didn't go as planned but that is ok, it ended well.  Laundry was done this morning then Anna brought the girls over for the afternoon, they got to play with our airbnb renter's son while I was waiting for Dr. Hoerr to arrive.  After Anna picked the girls up each weanling filly was taken out of the stall, led outside to the round pen, around the barn, into the indoor arena before taking her back to her stall. Each also were tied and then had all 4 of their hooves picked up over and over. They are improving on leading. And still I waited. Mark and I were supposed to be at the fellowship hall at 5:45 pm to help set up for family night but Emma from the vet office did not give me much hope that Dr. Hoerr would arrive before 5:00 pm. Mark said he would go to set up so I went to the barn to wait. It was quite late when Dr. Hoerr finally made it just as it was getting dark out but all was forgiven when his ultrasound machine showed that Indy was pregnant.
Indy was covered by Evan and is due July 14th, 2021. She will be taken out to Middle Grove tomorrow. Zalena was also checked. She was also covered by Evan and is due March 15th, 2021 but Zalena usually goes a little early so her owner will want to start watching her closely the end of February. Zalena's blood was drawn for a new coggins test as her last one now has expired. From there we went into the stall barn to get pictures of each filly and draw blood from each filly. Irish's filly was the best, hardly even flinching. Lola's filly flinched but then stood and Soul's filly was dramatic and threw herself backward with the needle prick but then stood ok. All 3 stood well for the pictures.  Ralph and Jamie arrived just as Dr. Hoerr was leaving and brought 2 dozen fresh eggs from their chickens. That is such a nice gift especially since we were completely out of eggs and didn't even have any for our breakfast this morning.
Spark sent the picture below. They must have been out on one of the boats at Middle Grove and saw the horses from the lake.
That is Ripper, Hadassah and her filly and Irish.
