Moving More Manure

My job right after the walk was to remove any net wrap tangled in the manure spreader. That work was much harder than it had been on Saturday as most of the tangled net wrap was covered with manure that dried like concrete. It took lots of scraping, cutting and pulling to get that machine clean.  Anna arrived to clean the apartment just as I was finishing up so the girls were put to work. Otto, Indy's colt by Evan is leaving some time tonight or early morning and he needed practice loading. Braelyn went to the gate to call him and he came right up to see what she wanted or if she had a treat. More like he wanted the treat.

Taegan brought the treats while Kensley and Braelyn held the lead rope.

He willingly went with them to the trailer.
He was loaded 5 or 6 times then put in a stall with his grain, fresh water and a couple flakes of hay. Gracie, Irish's filly by Valiant was brought out next. She isn't leaving for a while but also hasn't been loaded for a while. She is SO sweet and adorable I am really regretting not keeping her. My grand daughter would LOVE to own a Gypsian so maybe we should keep Irish's next foal for Addyson but ONLY if that foal is a filly.

That is Joshua's head hanging over the fence hoping Taegan shares. Gracie wasn't sure she wanted to share with him.
Taegan was glad to share some with Josuah.
We took Gracie over to the horse trailer and she walked right in and was happy to do so. She likes being with people. Especially people with treats.

She was put in the stall next to Otto and will be turned out after he leaves.  Then it was time to bring in more hay and clean the barn. The girls are good help.

Mark came home around 1:30 pm and went right to work cleaning Valiant's paddock.
After that was cleaned, the manure spread on the fields and lime put down in the paddock he came in for supper. After supper he went back out to work on Evan's paddock and worked on that until dark.
The manure from that paddock was spread in the stallion field. We are having beautiful weather to get all this fall work done early this year and technically it isn't even fall yet until tomorrow. The trucks and trailers were all backed in off the circle drive. The transport company coming in the night is a big 33 ft trailer with a 1 ton truck. Otto's paper work is all up at the barn and the best news of all is I got the golf cart working today so if they show up at 1:00 am I can just jump on the golf cart and get up to the barn to quickly.
