Hurricane Sally

A text came in this morning from the person that bought Dublin 3 years ago. Dublin was out of our mare Roxanne by Valiant and the owner wanted to show me how gorgeous he turned out and to ask to be put on the list for another next year.

Truly this was bittersweet. Roxanne was the mare we lost this year to colic. Below is a picture of Dublin as a foal.
Mom, Aunt Jinnie and I left for the Berean office right after the walk. We had a good time working with the other volunteers there today. If you would like to read about that click HERE. We stopped at Meisters to drop off the studies for the Roanoke church to grade then to the Bartonville post office to drop off the Bibles being mailed today, all 62 of them. From there we went home. Mom had her cardiologist appointment today. Joan took her and gave us the report. Because of her slow heart rate the doctor does not believe medicine is the right fit to fix the A-fib and once mom gets back from Gulf Shores they will discuss shocking her heart. She is going to be put on blood thinner now. The good news is that she is allowed to push herself, or in other words let Aunt Jinnie push her. We were teasing Aunt Jinnie this morning about how she makes mom walk up and down the stairs each day and do her breathing exercises 3 times a day. Truly we are thankful Aunt Jinnie is here. I left for Stock and Field to pick up more vaccines for the horses and bought everything they had over $250.00 of them. As soon as I got home Zalena, Brynja and Magdalena were brought into the stalls, given grain and then given their shots. None of them even noticed. They know the routine and can hardly wait for me to bring them inside.  Aunt Jinnie asked if I would download the message from Sunday Aug 30th so she could send it to her children. That was worked on this afternoon.
Mark got home and worked on repairing the manure spreader, he needed some help so I went up to help. Mackenson brought the push mower over and mowed the hillside.  Faith and Joan rode the riding mowers over and the two of them got all of our yards mowed while Berlica cleaned up the grass on the driveway.

What a blessing that was. After our big rainfall and now lots of sunshine the grass is growing like crazy. Hurricane Sally is pounding Gulf Shores right now. Nolan sent us the link below.
Diane and Mike evacuated to Destin Florida. Sure hope there isn't too much damage done.
