Total is 19

David, Israel and Elisabet spent the night in the camper which is currently in the barn where Lily and her filly spent the night. Israel helped move them outside this morning.
Mom and Diane were the only walkers.
The rest of us went to Ruth and Fedi's place to help with the butchering of the hogs.
We DID it. A total of 19 hogs were butchered, 11 on Saturday and 8 today. Every family that needed or wanted meat for their freezer now have plenty. This was a huge job and we are so thankful for everyone that helped. Today started out pretty cold and windy and stayed that way the entire time but that worked out well also. There were no flies to deal with and no one got over heated from working.  Below are a few pictures of the day.

In the video below Fedi demonstrates how to remove the organs and intestines.
It was a very productive day. When I got home Lily and her colt were put in the stall to wait for Dr. Pallen then Mark and I left to work on cutting down saplings on the dam. He got a new blade for his weed whacker and it worked very well.
When he finished we went in and fried up some of the fresh ground sausage for supper. It was delicious but then we were really hungry from all that work today.  The Chevy truck was dead so Mike came over and jumped it with his truck. I was able to back it next to the barn so Mark put it on a charger. The other truck and trailer were backed in. Karin took that today to the Goose Ranch, picked up 4 horses from there and took them to AmyBeth's place as they have a lot of pasture. Dr. Pallen arrived to flush Lily's uterus again and today we were pleased to find NO yucky pinkish discharge when flushing it out.
Lily was given a clean bill of health.  It was a long hard day but we are all thankful for what got done today and very thankful to Fedi and Ruth for hosting the butchering party.
