Lily's Colt SOLD

Tori was fed early this morning. We lost electricity yesterday and I forgot to reprogram the coffee maker which went off at midnight. By 5:00 am the coffee was done but cold. While that was heating up stalls were cleaned and horses fed. Both stallions will need new round bales tomorrow. Ruth had to quit the walk early today as her school was doing a Zoom meeting starting at 8:00 am.  I went to the Berean office after the walk. Robin had picked up the mail and there was so little that Berean was called off. When I got home Anna was just finishing up at the apartment and the girls were here. Anna talked over some new decorating ideas and I agreed. She is shopping on line for a pet friendly comforter and would also like to replace the towel rack in the bathroom.  When she left Tori and her colt were taken outside for the first time since the colt was born. It wasn't raining but but felt like it with only 56 degrees and damp so they weren't left out very long. Just long enough to get pictures of this gorgeous 2 day old colt for the website and the person buying him.
Tori wanted to graze but he kept running just a little too far for her to be comfortable.

They were taken to the indoor arena and left there instead of putting them back in a stall. Jury was taken out and teased and I was pleased when she screamed and struck out at Valiant. She is obviously out and will be marked down.  The next mare out was Roxanne and she too was not interested. Ayanna was brought out and she had no interest at all in Valiant. She was put in with Rosalie and Hadassah next to Valiant's paddock. I'll need to watch pretty closely but she is ignoring Valiant and he is ignoring her so she is obviously NOT in season. Soul was brought over last and she too is out. Soul and Jury were both covered on Sunday so the timing was perfect. The deposit check came for Lily's colt today so the website was updated from sale pending to Sold. I really need to get some updated pictures of him too for the website. He is just a day old in this one.
The owner is naming him Prins Alexander. The spelling of Prins is correct it is the Dutch spelling of Prince.
Anna found a queen size headboard in Creve Coeur for the apartment, borrowed the truck and picked it up tonight. Mark took the golf cart over to mom's got the push mower and was able to finish mowing our yard, even the steep part of the hill. He has been a mowing machine these last couple weeks.  Tori's stall was cleaned and left open to air out. Hadassah is the next mare due and she is officially due June 10th but in the past has delivered about a week early.
Our governor (we live in Illinois) has put a plan in place to keep Illinois on lockdown for another 150 days AND small business can be FINED AND people thrown in jail for up to a year if they do not do as he says:
Members of a key legislative committee are scheduled to meet May 20 to discuss a newly filed emergency rule that criminalizes businesses who defy Gov. J.B. Pritzker’s stay at home order.
Pritzker amended Illinois Department of Public Health rules so business owners can be charged with a Class A misdemeanor for violating his closure order. The rule immediately took effect Friday, and now business owners can face a maximum penalty fine of $2,500 and one year in prison. Since this new rule was filed as an emergency rule, it would be effective for 150 days
This is up for a vote tomorrow.  PLEASE reach out to those voting to ask them to VOTE NO! Enough is enough, this is just another power grab! click HERE for information on those voting and how to get in touch with them. By the way No one answers the phone numbers and all the mailboxes are full but you CAN still email them.
