Jurista

We had sunshine this morning AND no rain but wow did the rain ever pound down during the night. The foaling monitor was on and Tori in the stall so we could hear the rain pounding on the stall barn metal roof as loud as if it was our roof. The storm also held lightning and thunder. Not that I heard any but Emma came and slept in our room and she only does that if there is thunder.
Tori was turned out with Roxanne and Jenis in the big pasture. Lily and her colt spend the night in the indoor and were turned out in the adjoining pasture. Irish, Soul and Lola were turned out in the pond pasture for a few hours. The apartment was cleaned and made ready this morning for our airbnb guests then I left for Aldi. Sarah and Nolan were here when I arrived home so I took the girls on the golf cart while they rode with Karin to work on clearing more trails. Aubry, Joan's grand daughter went with them.
Stephanie arrived right after they left with Israel and Elisabet. Karin took a second trail ride and this time Faith rode Sally double with Israel, Berlica rode Cookie, Ava rode Missy and Karin rode Sangria. These horses are really getting a work out. The trails were muddy but passable. Rhoda arrived, cleaned out the 2 horse trailer then she and I left to pick up Rhoda's new mare who 6 years ago happened to be our mare named Jurista. Jurista is a 15 year old IALHA registered purebred Andalusian mare and when we owned her she was a dapple gray. The pictures below were all taken about 6 years ago.

Jurista was sold in foal to Valiant, had a GORGEOUS filly the owner named Chilli and then was leased out to someone else who also bred her to Valiant. They were thrilled with their foal also but now the owner needed to downsize and really wanted to keep Chilli so Rhoda offered to buy Jurista back. At 15 years old Jurista is now all gray, almost white.  We picked her up and Rhoda took her right to the round pen to see if she remembered her training. We brought Ayanna to the round pen as these two will be sharing the middle paddock until Jury is comfortable with our herd. She will be staying with us until Rhoda and Lee buy their new home with a huge training facility, a big barn and of course an indoor and outdoor pool.  I'm JUST KIDDING Lee! Below is a picture taken this evening of Rhoda and Jury.
Rhoda loves Andalusians and is happy to have her own horse again. Jury will be bred to Valiant and the foal only will be for sale.  When Jury was put away and all was well Soul was taken over, teased and covered by Evan. This evening Mike came over to get a bale for the cabin horses and Mark helped me move in 3 bales. One for the far paddock and 2 new ones for the middle paddock. Tori's udder was checked and it is swollen and tight. No waxing but a big enough change that she could deliver tonight. She is back in the stall and on the foaling monitor. She is not in labor though she is very content to stand quietly munching on her hay so probably not going to happen tonight.
