Roxanne

We had sunshine and warm weather for most of our Saturday.  This morning Mark went out to work on cleaning up the wood from that big dead tree he took down.

Jenis, Indy and Oksana were turned out in the field to graze.
Above is Indy and the next 3 pictures below are of Jenis.

The two colts hung around with Oksana. They are pretty muddy, they found a wonderful mud puddle to roll in.
Her colt knows how to keep the flies off his face. He buries his face in her tail.

The colts stay with each other and migrate from one mom to the other.
Mom's Japanese Maple tree was glowing in the sunshine.

Our Japanese Maple didn't make it and we removed it this year. I think it was just too much sun where we had it planted. Karin took a group out riding this morning and they took their machetes and kept hacking out new trails. The second group she took out was Anni and her brother Steven, two of Ruth's. Steven has been clearing the creek for his kayak so they took the horses down to check out how far he has it cleared.  I teased mares starting with Ayanna who said no, Rosalie who said no, Irish who said no and Roxanne who said yes. She was covered this afternoon with Valiant.
Joan is hosting church lunch tomorrow so I ran in to Kroger in Bartonville to pick up some veggies, strawberries and ice cream. It was just too hot at 75 degrees to want to bake.  It was raining on the drive home so as soon as the food was put away the rain coat was put on and Tori brought inside. She is still not waxing and seems very relaxed in the stall. She is due in 9 days.
