Pregnant

Our morning was chilly not even 50 degrees out but by afternoon the winds from the south brought us 80 degrees and it got hot.  My morning was spent getting the apartment ready for the guest coming in tomorrow. It needed a good cleaning and that is what it got.  Dr. Hoerr was scheduled to arrive this afternoon for ultrasounds and to check Jewel's colt.  As soon as the apartment was finished Jewel and her colt were taken out for some updated pictures for the website. This colt is just 1 day old and already moves amazing. He was galloping around the stall and when taken to the outdoor arena really showed how he could move. Hard to believe he is only one day old.

He sure is a friendly fellow.
Rebekah arrived to work with Irish and today asked her to canter under saddle for the very first time.

Check out that BIG smile.
When she was working with her Dr. Hoerr called to say he was on the way.  Rebekah brought Irish inside and stalled her while I brought Indy and Oksana in. Those 3 needed ultrasounds.  We had Dr. Hoerr look at Jewel's colt first. He probably says this about everyone's babies but his actual words were, "Now that's a NICE colt!"  Next up was Irish. She has not come into season yet so I wanted her checked. Dr. Hoerr thinks she is just transitional and to give her a couple weeks. Indy was next and it didn't take him long to find the embryo.
We are thrilled as she was only covered once by Evan on April 7th so this foal is due March 18th, 2020.
The last mare was Oksana and she also was confirmed in foal.

Oksana was covered twice with the last time April 9th so her foal is due March 20th, 2020. Evan is the sire to this one too.
It really is wonderful how fertile the stallions are and have been over the years. Both Evan and Valiant throw amazingly beautiful foals that are sweet and so very trainable. What a blessing they have been to our program.  Dr. Hoerr left but not before scheduling the next 3 for ultrasounds in 2 weeks. Galena, Lola and Soul will be ready by then if they haven't come back in season. Rebekah put Irish and Oksana away but took Indy to the round pen.

By the time I got down to the house Mark was home from work and ready for supper. Tonight was sweet potato fries with a brown sugar butter sauce, mixed vegetables and pork roast.  Diane and mom came to church with us. Craig Stickling had the message.  It was good to be there to sit under the sound of the word.
