He had a ball running around today. He is doing so well and Jewel is more than ready to join the herd so today he joined the other mare and foal pairs. Zalena's filly is too black and too young to be out in the sunshine. We had 89 degrees and sunshine today. These black foals can get over heated and die very quickly. I brought her out for a few pictures this morning so I could update the website.
She is a stinker, she wasn't just bucking, she was also kicking her mom.
She thinks she is the princess around here.
As soon as the apartment was finished and ready for guests I finally made it back down to the house and there was a message from a man from Texas that wanted to purchase Lily's filly. He sent the deposit by PayPal. The filly was marked sold on the website and the pictures added of her and of Zalena's filly. The middle paddock got a new round bale today and the paddock next to Evan's was given a new bale. Lisa, Tori and Roxanne were put in that paddock in hopes it will bring them into season soon. Right now Lisa is the only mare making a fuss, she is not in season, she just thinks it is her job to scream at Evan and he is doing a lot of screaming back. Madiera and Sheena are content to stand in the shelter together when not grazing in the pasture. Both are due within 2 weeks but neither are bagged up yet. Jewel may be coming into her foal heat. She was hanging around Evan this afternoon.
This evening Joan and I drove to Lake Camelot to pick up a new to us riding mower. We used Mark's super handy tilt trailer to pick it up getting home by 9:00 pm.
