Camping

On our walk this morning we had no idea what was coming or we may have hurried it a bit. Instead we stopped to admire Joan's grapevines. These will be much bigger and turn purple when ripe and are profusely producing so many grapes the vines are bending.

Once back 2 pans of brownies were put in the oven and then I headed up to start hooking up the trucks to the campers. Mark checked all the tires and the fluids on the trucks. As we were working the rain started. Mackenson and Faith were busy mowing and even during the rain they kept mowing trying to finish before the 'real' rain started which happened about 10 minutes later. By the time I finished hooking up and moving the campers into position I was drenched. David and Stephanie's family were first to arrive. They packed their camper then headed out with the 2003 truck and the 2011 camper. David was kind enough to drive that so Mark could come with me. Phil and Anna's family pulled out with Phil's 2011 Ford truck and the Salem FSX with the slide from their house just as David was pulling out from here. Ben and Taunya's family were next to arrive. They pulled out with the motorhome. Nolan and Sarah's family were just a few minutes after them and they pulled out with the 2015 Chevy truck and the Wildwood camper, Mark and I borrowed Fedi's fancy Dodge truck and pulled the 2021 Salem for David but we didn't leave until 3:00 pm. When we arrived our camper was already set up for us, so we hooked up David and Stephanie's camper. Below are a few pictures of our rigs.

Below is Fedi's truck which worked perfect for the Salem. HE even had the correct size ball on AND his hitch was set to the perfect place.
Everyone was at the pool. It was a beautiful sunny day here but raining at home. Since I was cooking a rice dish to go with the bbq ribs Mark passed around some watermelon to help hold off the hungry hoard.
We didn't get dinner served until a few minutes after 6:00 pm and those kids were starving.
Swimming all day really builds the appetite.
After dinner the kids rode bikes, played gagaball and bounced on the tramp.

Nolan and Sarah played Ben and Taunya spike ball.
Some of the kids and parents went back to the pool. Mark also went swimming. This evening the the kids were put to bed a little early. The adults are playing card games but us grandparents are exhausted and heading to bed. A wonderful first day.
