Valiant needed a new bale but there was enough in to last until Mark got home. He didn't think so but there really was. As compensation for making him wait he was given extra grain this morning before heading over to mom's. Joan reported mom had a great night sleep not waking the entire night. Ruth was already there and when Karin showed up mom wanted to start her walking practice. I had a busy day here on the farm. The two colts in the indoor were stalled and the skid steer moved closer to the door. The hose was hooked up to the hot water in the stall barn and strung across into the indoor. Kincade was tied up to the skid steer and his legs and tail hosed off. Both of those were muddy. He stood reasonably well for that and when done led back into the stall to wait for his owner. I ran back down to the house to work on laundry. The truck and trailer arrived around 12:30 pm and is pictured below.

Fancy Hats
That HUGE trailer was for one little weanling. He was brave and only hesitated a bit going up the ramp. We sold our trailer with the ramp so he had never been up one but it wasn't a problem. Below he is in his stall in the trailer.
I got one update with a picture that he was traveling very well. They had him on the monitor.
The 4 weanlings in the middle paddock knocked down a board just before the trailer arrived so I just quickly strung a rope across. The only colt that takes advantage of the board down is Lola's colt (the one with the star). He jumps it and grazes in the yard until I get around putting him back but won't try to jump it with the rope across. Left to right is Jewel's colt, Rosalie's filly, Soul's filly and Lola's colt. They all had burrs in their forelocks and all three look like they are sporting some fancy kind of hat.
I'll need to get that board fixed before they learn how to untie ropes and I wouldn't put it past them. As soon as Mark got home we moved the bale in for Valiant. I relieved Ruth around 3:00 pm at mom's and stayed until Anni came home at 9:00 pm. Anni will stay with mom until Joan comes around 11:00 pm. Tonight is the last night for the play Anne of Green Gables and they won't be getting home until late. Mark is already in bed and I will be following shortly. Just wanted to change the wash machine one more time, make the coffee for tomorrow morning and write the blog.
