Another Colt Picked UP

I forgot to change the clocks back last night and that meant we woke up at 4:00 am instead of the usual 5:00 am and yet it felt correct. That gave me time to bake 2 pumpkin pies and pumpkin dump cake for tonight's dessert.  The pork loin for tonight was roasted until almost done then cooled down. That would be reheated for dinner. The house was straightened up and it STILL wasn't time to leave for church. After getting a couple loads of laundry done, the stove cleaned and the floors scrubbed it WAS finally time to leave for church.  Ruth drove mom in the wheel chair van and parked it by the church front door. Mark dropped me off at the front door so I could park that van in the parking lot.  We had a wonderful day in church. Gregg Rumbold had the first service and David Obergfel had the second.  After church the man coming to pick up Rosaleigh's colt was due to arrive at 2:00 pm but didn't make it until 2:15 pm. Sarah and Nolan's family had already arrived and the girls had picked grass for the horses and also brought carrots. Below Zion and Eden are getting ready to give the stallions their special treat.

They were a little intimidated by both of the stallions. Above is Evan and below is Valiant.
David and Stephanie's family arrived so we took the golf cart over to the playground.
About that time the truck and trailer had arrived. The colt was brought out, he loaded quietly and they were on their way. I had about an hour to get the pork loin back in the oven and the rest of the meal (stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravey, salad, rolls) cooked and ready. Everyone came tonight so we had a full house.

The dark came quickly with the time change, thankfully the playground has lights. The kids had a good time playing under the lights.

At 6:00 pm we needed to leave for hymn sing which was held at the fellowship hall. The little ones sang for us tonight.
Below are a couple of the songs they sang.

It is not yet 9:00 pm but feels much later. Today was a very good day.
