I had a good day staying with mom today. She wants to push herself to relearn to walk so we did. We had lots of transfers today. Rachel's birthday was November 2nd. She was gone that week but mom worked very hard to get her card ready and finally today Rachel got the card. Mom is left handed so she had to write with her right hand. We think she did wonderful.
This evening was our family meeting. Aunt Jinnie stayed with mom while we met at Diane's house. Joan brought chicken and noodle soup for everyone. Ruth brought chocolate chip cookies and Diane made brownies. It is really good to be able to talk to each other about concerns with mom's care and plans for the future and to find out we are all on the same page. Caring for mom really is a family affair. She cared for all 11 of us it is our privilege to care for her now. One of the items on the agenda was mom's annual Christmas card. Do we DO that? Mom and Aunt Jinnie are so cute together we could probably get a good picture of the two. Would she even WANT that? She has done Christmas cards since before I was born and that is a long time.
