New Valiant Colt

Mark wanted to work early this morning before the rain moved in. He trimmed trees while the boys and I moved the limbs to the burn pile. Jack and Jace were great help. I didn't have my camera so used the phone to take the pictures below.

while going through the phone pictures I found the pictures taken yesterday morning of Addyson and Abe helping clean the indoor arena.

So yesterday I had the A team helping and this morning I had the J team. A bale was moved into Ribbon's old paddock and the paddock next to Valiant's was made ready for a mare coming in this evening. Mark started mowing but quit when the rain moved in so the afternoon was spent doing laundry and cleaning the house. When the rain stopped we went up to work on the camper water heater. We are getting it to fire and even heat the water in the tank but the hot water is not coming through the faucets. We tried youtubing it but were not able to find the problem. Mark and I had left over lasagna for dinner. After dinner 3 mares were teased. Easter Lilly is still in and will be covered tomorrow. Jewel is in and covered today by Evan. The Appaloosa mare was teased and she said no very dramatically. She will be given a shot to short cycle her on Tuesday.  Julie, the owner of Derby a big paint mare that came in for breeding last year sent the message that Derby had a BIG ALL BLACK stud colt this morning around 11:30 am. Both Julie and I were expecting a paint foal but all is well, she is thrilled and sent the pictures below.
He is nursing well and by this afternoon was trying to canter around his mama.
I'm happy for Julie. The birth of a foal is just such a miracle. This evening Ralph and Jamie dropped off Dakota. She was teased but was not interested and within a few minutes the rain started back up. Hopefully she will come in soon. Tonight the chicken was deboned and cut up then stir fried for Sunday dinner tomorrow. A lot of the veggies were cut up but those will be stir fried tomorrow afternoon.
