Lily & Oksana Pregnant

There was kind of a let down this morning now that camp is over. Either that or everyone is VERY tired. Ruth decided to skip the walk and sleep in and mom was late. We really only did one round before quitting. I had stalls to clean before leaving for Pekin, IL for horse food and people food. Addyson, Jack and Jace came with me. I forgot to pack masks for them but when we went into Stock and Field for the grain no one bothered us about not wearing them.  We just bought 7 bags today but those 7 bags weighed 350 pounds. Jace and Jack took turns pushing the cart to the check out. What strong grandson's I have.  From there we went to Aldi and bought the vegetables for chicken stir fry tonight. Everything was unloaded when we got home.  Rhoda arrived to ride Jury and took Addyson and Jace with her. Addyson rode Missy and Jace rode Cookie. Berlica, Faith and Ellie came over right then to take Sally Missy and Sangria swimming but instead they went on a short ride with Berlica riding double until Rhoda brought back Missy and Cookie. Below are a few pictures of the rides.

Below Addyson was glad to have survived that ride.
Faith, Ellie and Berlica (double on Sangria) came up to take Missy. Cookie was put away.
Rhoda had Jury follow the horses down to the creek.

At the creek crossing the others went one way and Rhoda had Jury go the other way.

When the girls got back they took their 3 swimming in Diane's pond. She had been asking for the horses to come swimming, it helps clean up the submerged leaves on the sand when the horses churn it up.

They went running back up to the cabin field to put them away.

Meanwhile Rhoda ended up in the big field and did a lot of canter work with Jury.

She decided she wanted to see if Jury would swim across the lake. Now Jury has never been asked to swim that we know of.
She was hesitant walking out into the water but did as Rhoda asked.

She even did well as long as she could touch but when she got too deep and was suppose to start swimming Jury panicked and started thrashing around. Rhoda tried to turn her around to head back but Jury was too afraid so Rhoda just bailed off and let Jury loose. When Jury realized she could swim, she headed first to mom's beach with Rhoda swimming strongly also toward the beach. We took the golf cart over to the beach but Jury made a loop and started swimming to Rachel's. Rhoda jumped in the canoe and started paddling over to Rachel's. We took the golf cart over and were able to be at that side of the lake when Jury finally climbed up the bank. She took off running but when she saw us on the golf cart she stopped. We took her with the golf cart to meet Rhoda who was coming from mom's. She rode her back and all was well. Below is a video of them swimming but when Jury started to panic I stopped filming as I was too busy making sure Jury would be ok.
We are REALLY pleased to announce Dr. Hoerr confirmed Lily and Oksana pregnant. Oksana was done first. Her colt was just left out with Indy and both were fine while waiting. Oksana is due April 30th, 2021. The sire of Oksana's coming 2021 foal is Evan.
Lily was done next. Her colt was SO curious about the ultrasound machine. He kept sticking his nose right on it trying to figure out what Dr. Hoerr was doing to his mama.
When Dr. Hoerr was done he spent some time petting him. Below he is showing the colt his future sister or brother.
Lily's foals are almost always sweet and love people. They are in high demand and usually sell as soon as they are born SO...if you are looking for a BIG TALL hairy BLACK foal that will look just like a purebred without that big purebred price keep Lily's 2021 foal in mind. The sire of this foal is Valiant and she is due the same day as Oksana April 30th, 2021.
