An update came from those traveling out West and it looks like the trip is now coming to an end. Although Joan called this morning to tell us they are going to try to make it to St. Louis by this afternoon, go up the Arch tonight and do the Zoo tomorrow before taking their final journey home. Below is a post from Joey:

Day 15 Tuesday
Today was a long day, and our last day together as one big group. Most of us woke up around seven, but for the earlier risers they got to witness a beautiful sunrise. It was very windy at our camping spot, and that made it rather difficult to eat our breakfast of cereal. The wind kept typing over bowls or blowing the cereal right out of our spoons. Thankfully though we were able to block enough of the wind with our backs as we ate, so that our breakfast would stop flying away. We left camp around 8:20, and set in for a long drive. Some of us took naps (or attempted to) while others talked, read, or did practically anything to keep boredom away. Mom read the Bible to us, from John 6. Afterwards we had some discussion time and prayed. Since we finished Bruchko a few days ago, mom was now reading us a book called Peace Child. When she was done reading. Most of us tried to go back to sleep. After lunch about half of us squished into the back seat and watched The Princess Bride! That was fun, and after that, we goofed around for a bit, but then tried to get a bit more sleep. At around 7:00 the moms and Ellie went to Walmart to get some stuff and dad went to KFC to get us supper. We arrived at the home of Ruth Scott (a former missionary in Haiti) at around 8:00ish. At about 9:00 we finally had supper and it was delicious. After supper we had a great desert to celebrate Mom's birthday and to thank the moms for all the work they did to plan this trip. Without them it wouldn't have been possible. We visited for a while, and we all got to take showers again! At around 11:00 we went to bed. Tomorrow will be the day that our two groups separate, we're all so glad we were able to go on this trip together and that we were somehow able to deal with each other's craziness for a full two weeks.

Below are a few pictures as they drop off the Christensen's for their flight to Germany. It is hard to say good by when they know they won't see each other again for a long time.
Sean wrote about their first flight.:
On our flight to SF we flew over Colorado, the northern section of the Grand Canyon, the Colorado River. It was like reliving our trip. We saw the huge desert in Nevada then the snow covered Sierra Nevada mountains. The Fresno Valley was very interesting. Then the SF Bay. Plus I got a new bird at the airport! White-tailed Kite.
Heather sent the picture below of Mount Shasta:
