As there was thunder rumbling Kabur and Studly decided they needed to be inside with Emma. Sarah left Rizzy and Arietta here also so we had 5 dogs, 2 little girls and me.
Fred, Sarah's last puppy is now sold and will be going to Nashville, TN.
The vet visit went well. Sarah posted the picture below and wrote this update: Well all the cavapoos and the cavamaltipoos went for a car ride and a vet appointment today! They all did so amazing and passed their health check up 😍🐾 none of the puppies cried getting their first shot! my favorite part was when the vet was doing a health check up on each puppy she commented on how well all the puppies did being flipped around and not scared of her at all! We make sure our puppies love to be held even at the vet 😜 the cavapoos all weighed between 4 and 5lbs while the cavamaltipoos all weighed between 3 and 4lbs.
As soon as Sarah picked up everyone and left for home I took the truck to David and Stephanie's house to unload all the bikes from vacation. From there I stopped at Sam's Club to pick up the food for tomorrow's meal. That was unloaded and the trailer hooked up for the trip to the Giant Goose Ranch to pick up Jenis. I had no idea that Co Road 26 was closed and even GPS didn't know about that closure. It got me to the Goose Ranch but it took me 4 miles on a gravel road that didn't have enough gravel. The pot holes were awful and the mud even worse. Beth was waiting with Jenis when I arrived. Jenis loaded up and we were on our way home this time going route 9. Jenis was glad to be home and galloped around happily showing off to the 2 stallions.
Mark was home by the time I made it back inside. The potatoes were peeled and cooked then mashed to compliment the pork loin stuffed with cream cheese and spinach for dinner. I made enough for the Berean meal tomorrow. After dinner Mark worked outside while I worked inside.
The travelers sent back some pictures and a new post in their journal this time written by Eric.

Day 14
Today we got up early, between 5:00 and 5:20, and had some very good waffles. We went on our way shortly after that and started on a seven to eight hour drive too the Carlsbad Caverns. Unfortunately we were not able to make it there early enough to go into the caves from the entrance. So we took an elevator to the cave 754 feet below the surface and then hiked and looked around there for a few hours. It was also around 56 degrees in the cave which wasn’t terrible but was still cold. After waiting around in the cave for about a half hour because the chillins were working on their Junior Ranger books, we went on a 1.3 mile hike through the cave. Back on the surface we decided to have supper as we waited for the next activity that would start at 7:00. While we were eating supper a giant tarantula hawk (a large black wasp that stings and then lays its eggs on tarantulas) the biggest I have ever seen, at least five inches long, flew up just a few inches from dad’s face. It landed on the chicken scraps and checked them out. Some of us hoped it would check out the potato salad so that the rest of us wouldn’t have to eat it... but alas.. life is full of its disappointments, and to our great chagrin, it flew away leaving the potatoes untouched. After supper we went to the mouth of the cave where we listened to a ranger talk about the bats that lived there as we waited for the bats to make their exit and go on the hunt for the night.
They did, around 7:30 they swarmed out of the cave taking a full forty-five minutes for them all the make their way out. It was a spectacular experience. If you listened closely you could hear their wings fluttering. It kind of sounded like a bee hive. It was quite amazing. After all the bats exited and we asked the ranger some questions, we made our way to our camp sight. The girls got to sleep in the nice air conditioned camper while us guys got to sleep in the van and experience a balmy temperature of 85 degrees. But on the whole, it was a pretty good day.
