Spoon River Drive Day 2

We decided we were not going to start the pony rides until 1:00 pm today giving us time to at least go to morning church and I was so glad we did. Craig Stickling had the morning service but even before the ministers went up on the pulpit we noticed Jesse Stickling up in the front row wearing a white shirt and tie. That was the first clue it was going to be a good day. Craig had the service on the persecution of the Christian. There was a terrible shooting at a school in Oregon this week and the gun man would ask, "are you a Christian?" and if they answered yes they would be shot in the head. Craig asked, "can you imagine what the reaction would be for the second person asked?"
After the morning service Tim Funk announced that Jesse had started repenting.
Made me hate to leave church for work. Mark dropped me off in Farmington then took the car home. Karin arrived shortly after that and we already had people waiting for pony rides. Next week we will need to put a sign up before we leave on Saturday that on Sunday the rides won't start until 1:00 pm. We had people tell us this was the 3rd time today of checking to see if we were open. We were much busier today than yesterday. Saturday we worked all day and made $199.00 but today we only worked 4 hours and made $252.00. The money we are raising will be used for the vaulters entry fee and expenses for the March show. Below are a few pictures of day 2.

The rest of the pictures were placed on the Horsemeister Inc Facebook page. To see them click HERE  . When I arrived back at the farm the Appaloosa mare that was brought in for breeding to Evan was showing. She was taken over to the breeding stand and tied but that didn't go well. I found out pretty quickly this mare does not tie. She started throwing herself backward and promptly broke the halter then took off running down the lane. Thankfully she stopped to visit first with Evan and then to Valiant giving me a chance to get behind her. I was able to catch her and take her to the stall. Nolan happened to be around so he was pressed into service. This was a 2 person job today but the job did get accomplished. Nolan was just a bit late for volley ball. Below are a few pictures of the games tonight.

Rhoda sent a text that Lee was able to ride Oksana all by himself. It looks like we have another rider in the family! Good Job Lee, not the riding part, the part where you are going out to the barn and supporting your wife as she trains.
It was another good day and I will sleep well tonight.
