Diane brought 3 extra's along on the walk. Rachel, her daughter-in-law was having surgery today on her knee so Diane had 3 of her grand children. After the walk they came over to play.
They had to pose for a picture so Diane could send it to their mom.
Below Ella and Irelyn are admiring Killian while we admire the colorful tree in the back ground.
After they left Ripper was brought out for website pictures. He was gelded 5 days ago and is doing so well he was running around his paddock yesterday. He was taken to the outdoor arena for the pictures. He has a thick mop of a mane, very nice movement and is actually really handsome. He is 17 months old and close to 15 hands. If he reaches 16 hands we are keeping him for another riding horse. (like we don't have enough of those!)
He is actually really smart. Today was the first time he ever saw the bridge, he went over to check it out and stepped right up on it, just to hear the sound it made. He will be easy to train.
When I came back in the house Darcy and Emma were all excited about a bird in the wood burner. The door was opened, the bird flew out and flew into the window and was stunned. I put it in the tree on the patio. Below is the dogs reactions.
Darcy kept trying to climb up into the tree while Emma was content to sit and watch. Emma was pretty sure that bird was going to take off. It did.
The vet clinic called to see if Darcy's appointment could be moved up to 2:00 pm. Rhoda was called then we were on our way. When we arrived they took a sterile urine sample then let her go outside to go to the bathroom.
above and below she is anxiously waiting for Dr. Pallen to come back. Actually she is anxious to go home but that wasn't to be.
Dr. Pallen examined her then drew her blood.
The results were distressing for Rhoda. Darcy is borderline kidney failure. She was given 2500 mm of fluids subcutaneous while we were there.
Once that bag was half empty the IV stand, that bag of fluids, another bag of fluids, needles, another IV line and Darcy were loaded into the car for the ride home. Mark had already made it home from work and helped carry everything into the house. The rugs were rolled up, new bedding put on the dogs beds, extra towels put down, dinner cooked then the next 2500 mm of fluid started. By the time we finished the bag Darcy was ready to go outside. Hopefully the fluids were shock her kidneys into working better.
