Foal Video

We had a special treat today at the Berean office. If you would like to read about it click HERE
As soon as I got home from the post office the dogs were let outside but they wanted back in right away and as soon as the door was opened they both ran to the wood burner. Guess why?
Yep you guessed it, a bird had fallen down the chimney and was banging on the window of the door to be let out. When the door was opened both dogs just stare as if daring each other to be the first to try for the bird. This was a sparrow, usually we get starlings falling into the stove. It flew into the window where I could grab it, take it outside and to the dogs disappointment let it go.
The weanlings were checked on next. They had spilled their water buckets again so once those were filled and their feed given. Walter, Sangria's colt by Valiant, was haltered and led out of the stall into the big barn and given a bath. The day was nice and hot hitting 82 degrees here, unusual for northern Illinois but who's complaining. I was putting him back in the barn when Karin arrived. She helped bring Zoey, Zalena's filly by Evan out for some pictures and a short video for her owner Dee.
This filly has what we call 'lift' check out her video below and notice the air time between trot steps.

Next we brought out Zara, Ribbon's filly by Valiant. We didn't have time to get a video of her as Karin had guests coming for a trail ride but I got a few pictures. It was funny though when I went to download them. It was hard to tell Zara and Zoey apart in the pictures. I should have taken something or another horse between the 2. Zara will leave for her new home in November.
Below is Zara.

Once the foals were put away and Karin's guests arrived they had to hike back into the back pasture to find the horses. They were suppose to have 4 riders today but one cancelled. Below is Karin on Jenis, Tammy on Ribbon and Delaynie on Bunni.
They had a good ride, survived the 'death trails' just fine. Once Jenis and Bunni were put away, Karin helped get Ribbon covered by Valiant. If she would settle on this season we would have a foal around Sept 20th, 2016 which would work well for Ribbon's show schedule next year.
Tonight Mom, Joan and I attended a wedding shower at the fellowship hall. It was well attended.
