Spoon River Drive Day 1

The day started early. William's owners sent a text they would be here before 7:00 am which was a good thing as we were suppose to leave around then to head to Farmington to give pony rides for the first day of the 2015 Spoon River drive. William is Emma's colt by Evan. Last night he had to stay in a stall all by himself for the very first time in his entire 5 months of life. He was very glad to see me this morning and when his owners brought another horse with them for the journey he was glad to go with them. His owners were pretty thrilled to take him.
Karin drove the truck and trailer with Bunni and Cookie while I drove the car loaded with the cotton candy and popcorn machines to Dan's place in Farmington. This use to be called The Old School Center but since it burned down I'm not exactly sure what Dan is calling it now. Even before we were done setting up customers came for pony rides. Our helpers today were Joan, 4 of her children and 2 of her grand children. We were so thankful for the help. Below are a few pictures of the day, the rest are placed on the Horsemeister inc Facebook page.

Joan's cat had 6 kittens that just turned 8 weeks old. She brought them along with a for sale sign and sold 2 of them. The kittens were a big draw.
 Below is lunch break
We stayed busy pretty much all day.

From 2:00 pm to 4:30 pm we had a big rush of customers. By that time it was just Karin and I so we got quite a work out. We were both tired by the time we got the horses put away and were heading back to Hanna City.
Mark went to East Peoria tonight to hear David speak. I'm heading into the tub to soak some sore muscles. Then I'm going to take 2 Aleve and head to bed. And just think tomorrow we get to do it all over again.
