Snow

We had another cold morning that turned into not a very nice day. Braelyn, Taegan and Kensley were picked up and taken to my house and were hired to clean and get it ready for the birthday parties we will hold here tomorrow. While they were doing that I picked up Diane so we could pick up groceries at Aldi in Pekin. They had this wonderful load of gravel dropped at their house a couple days ago.

It wasn't dumped in the right place but when we got back Mike had it all spread. When we came out of the store it was snowing. The groceries were unloaded then I went to mom's house to relieve Ruth. I bought a pizza and a lot of toppings at Aldi for our lunch. Braelyn, Taegan and Kensley had finished cleaning by the time we got home and they did a wonderful job. I'm so thankful for grandchildren. They even did the dishes.  Mark and Mackenson were busy taking the snow tires off our cars and putting on the summer tires and were shocked at the snow when they came out of the garage.  The video below was taken off mom's deck.

Mom decided while watching that white stuff coming down so hard that she was chilled needed to be wrapped up in a blanket and so did Molly.
For the pizza I added sausage, peppers, mushrooms, black olives and a lot more mozzarella cheese. The toppings were good but the crust was tough, It all got eaten. Phil arrived just as we finished lunch so he and the girls went to the barn and finished laying all the rubber tiles for the upstairs. That floor is now done.  Those carpet strips on the floor are for the walls. The girls were just making patterns with them.

Phil was working with the girls on their volleyball skills. What a good dad.
I checked out the new washer and dryer for the barn.
They are used but work and were free. Rhoda found them then Phil and Anna picked them up for us. When I got home I hiked up to the barn to give Jewel her sulfa. She didn't come to the gate today but she didn't run either. She is out of season now and no sign of infection. The picture and video below were taken yesterday when the sun was shining. That gander was up on Evan's shelter keeping watch over his goose who was grazing in Evan's pasture.
He flew down to be with her when he saw me watching.
Israel and Crew came over for a bit then went back to Mike and Diane's house. Karter was over helping Mike so they saddled up Mika and Sangria, put the pack saddle on Dancer and headed to the 'death trails' to work on clearing them.
Mike reported that Dancer was perfect on the trails.
I pulled 3 chuck roasts out of the freezer and put them in the crock pots on low. They are now filling the house with delicious smells as they cook. I bought 4 pounds of carrots and 3 pounds of small potatoes at Aldi's to add tomorrow. The deposit came for Indy's colt and Tatiana's filly along with the names the owner decided on. They were marked sold on the website. Now I just need to get hair pulled and the papers mailed in so they can be registered.
Irish was just checked, her udder is still pretty flat so the mares are staying outside tonight. Thankfully the snow didn't stick. Winter coats were needed today.
