More Storms
We went to bed with strong storms pounding the area and woke up to strong storms. The electricity came back on but during the night went off again, which meant the coffee maker didn't turn on at 5:00 am. By 5:15 am I had to get up, walk into the kitchen and manually turn it on..oh the hard labor around here that doesn't quit! The entire area is under a flood warning. Mark's pond last year never filled up, this year it has been too full going out the overflow, now we need to pray it doesn't go over the dam. The lake is over full also. I'm so thankful our house and barns are on a hill. The new gravel on the driveway has been carried down into the creek. Mark is almost afraid to head in to Meisters, will the building be under water? We haven't had a flood there for years but we haven't had rain like this for years. Our area got around 5 inches of rain yesterday with another 3 predicted for today. I will have to carry wheelbarrow loads of hay to the boys for today. Mark has a man coming today to test the infiltration of air coming into the house, he is to arrive at 8:00 am, after last winter, we need to find out how to get this 150 year old house more air tight.
