Finally today there was a bit of colostrum on Ella's teats. Ella was bred to Evan last year.
With her 4 high whites and her white back end we have a real chance for some color on this foal.
Tonight enough colostrum was pulled to test with the foaling predictor kit from Chemetrics. She is testing right at 200, a bit less than 50-50 chance of delivery tonight. It is my turn to spend the night at mom's so I'm praying she won't deliver until tomorrow night. The video camera is all charged up and will be left in the apartment tonight along with the camera.
Zalena is just beginning to bag up, she isn't due for 25 days. As this will be her first foal, we will watch her closely and move her into her own paddock in a couple of days. Marika and Ribbon are both due April 28th and Hadassah May 1st. April will be busy.
