After the walk the mares were teased with only Ayanna showing. She will be covered tomorrow by Killian. Karin arrived after work to continue her work with Hadassah.
After round penning her, then saddling her up, today Hadassah was introduced to a rider. Karin reports Hadassah doesn't have a mean bone in her body but has tremendous stamina. This mare can go all day long. She accepted Karin on her without reacting. Today was just to introduce weight but she was also asked to take a few steps and did very well. Next came the lay down. It took her quite a while to give in to this, we thought the second time would go much quicker but were disappointed in her reaction. She fought almost as long the second time. Hopefully tomorrow will go better with that. She is doing so well with everything else. Lilypony was brought out next.
She was a pill when first saddled, she took off bucking around the arena. Karin made her work with the saddle on then used the same technique to mount her as she did Hadassah and again with good results. Karin had Lilypony walking and trotting quietly with a rider. Lilypony was asked to lay down for the first time ever and she was smart about knowing when to give in and lay down. The first time took less than 10 minutes and the second time much quicker. Both of these mares are 3 years old. Mark had a Home Board meeting tonight so dinner was just leftovers.
