WE had 10 people join our walk this morning, what fun! Beth drove in from Norris, IL, Ruth brought 3 of her kids, Joan was home, Rachel, mom, Diane and I finished out the group. The filly is doing so well, it was time to put them out into the cabin field. Samantha is still in season and was covered but we are pretty much sure she will be out tomorrow and the vet can be called. Samantha has lost some weight being in a stall and only getting fed 3 times a day. She needs to be on free choice hay, green grass and grain as long as she is nursing her filly.
Raven was moved back into his own paddock, he was not drinking in the breeding shed paddock. Sure wish we could get some of the mud out. We still have a lot of storm damage, 2 of the shelter roofs need repair, one is blown off with sheets of metal hanging down the other is flapping up each time the wind blows. The yard still is a disaster area, tree limbs everywhere. Spark got the fire engine going so Karin will have the arena for her vaulting practice. It wasn't a loose wire, it was a flipped lever. Steven worked the boys today individually. They are doing so well when hooked together but when they are worked by themselves they both had an attitude problem. Rebekah called wondering if Knight was one of the ponies brought back from Middle Grove, the cousins were wanting to go on a trail ride, Knight is not back but there are plenty of other horses there now for the girls. Kind of nice to have a good selection, there are 9 all in the area that are great for rides; Duke, Paris, Bunni, Autumn, Sangria and Mika at the farm, plus Sunny and Sandy from Rachel's house and Larry at Ruth's house.
Today is my daughter in law's birthday, Ben, her husband invited us all to Chili's to help celebrate it, then Anna invited us all to her house for cake and ice cream after dinner.
