Last night around 8:30pm a call came from our renter that one of the foals had a swollen leg and couldn't put any weight on it. Dr. Hoerr was called to warn him he may be driving out then Rhoda and I left for the farm. Well it turned out to be a false alarm. She was galloping around by the time we got there so Dr. Hoerr was called back to tell him thankfully he was not needed. Another storm was moving in and the sky was bright with slashes of lightning stretching from the west to the east. By the time we were home and headed up for bed the storm seemed to be right over the house. The crash of thunder was so continues and loud the sound waves made it seem the house was shaking. We usually enjoy watching the storms but last night we were just too tired and fell asleep to the bright flashes and loud crashes.
So trying to drive to the farm this morning was pretty bad. Every where we looked were branches or complete trees down. Rachel thinks a small tornado went through. There were trees down across the main drive, the farm drive, Sparks drive, there were 7 trees down trying to get to Rachel's. It took Spark an hour to saw his way out of his drive!
Rhonda lost a huge old oak tree, just snapped off at the base and fell over her clothes line.
The playground was a mess! David Sauder was cleaning it up as fast as possible as another storm was moving in quickly.
The farm house almost was hit by a huge branch.
A huge tree fell on Rachel's boat and smashed it flat but we never got that far on the walk, we had to quit the walk early, the rain started falling, the lightning flashing and thunder crashing!
