Tory's Training

It was hard to wake up this morning and I over slept not getting up until after 6:00 am. By 7:00 am the horses were fed and I was at the dumpster waiting for Ruth to show up for the walk but she was a no show today. Funny as yesterday she was the only one that showed up for the walk. Mark had to explain that we were ALL in Gulf Shores. I left early for Berean so I could stop at Sam's club to buy the lunch today. There really wasn't anything here to make and I was too tired yesterday to shop. We had an amazing day at the Berean office. If you would like to read about our work there click HERE.
I didn't get home until around 2:00 pm and went right out to work with the foals taking each one in a stall for grain, a quick groom and then leading them back out. They need to be handled and are both now coming to the gate waiting for me. They really like their grain. Tomorrow Karin will meet me at Middle Grove to start bringing home the other weanlings. We have 7 that need to be weaned. Lily's colt, Foxy's filly, Soul's colt, Madiera's filly, Rosaleigh's filly, Missy's filly, and Jewel's filly. We also need to move the remaining 16 horse over to the winter pasture to join the 18 already moved over. When Karin got off work, she came here for her second job, the one that pays in food. She stopped in and ate some of the Berean leftovers for dinner then took out Tory first.

Tory lost her mane and tail last year at Middle Grove. We think it was an allergic reaction to a weed but it is slowly growing back. She is doing so well in her training Karin is starting to think she will be one of the horses used in the spring show.  If we do end up using her I sure hope her mane and tail grow back quickly.  We are going to retire Zalena from showing and post her for sale so may need Tory.  Zalena has been such a wonderful show horse for us but she is 19 years old and we think she needs an easier life. She is in foal by Evan due June 2019 and that foal will be spectacular. Below is the FULL sibling of her expected foal.

Zalena is well trained to ride and has been used in many of the performances of Horsemeister over the years.

If interested in Zalena her price is $12,000.00 and that includes her 2019 foal. After Karin was done with Tory she brought Indy out. Indy is getting back in shape after taking all summer off.

When Karin finished with her she exclaimed,  "She is SO light in the bridle and so much fun to ride!"  I'm not sure who Karin is going to be putting on her for the show but whoever gets Indy is going to be thrilled. Karin was pleased that she is improving every ride.
This evening Mark and I spent at least and hour on a video conference learning about nursing home insurance.
A very nice email came in from Brandee, the lady that bought Ribbon's last colt. She sent the picture below
 and writes:Judy,
I just wanted to let you know how our big boy is doing. He is such a good boy and we couldn't be happier. I measured him tonight and he is measuring at 16.2 hands at the withers. I also did the estimated measurement on his front legs to get an idea of how tall he might me when he stops growing. His leg is measuring at 17.2 hands. I can't wait to see what he actually finishes out as.
