After church mom drove to Morton, IL to take Nancy shopping and out to eat. Sarah and Nolan brought their world renown chili for dinner tonight. A huge full crock pot of deliciousness. This was the perfect food for this gloomy damp cold day. Everyone else brought sides and we feasted. Braelyn found some pieces of material and made her own outfit after supper. She said she was dressed as Rahab from her Sunday School lesson.
Zion is now walking and toddling all over. I didn't think to take any pictures of her tonight. Rhoda and Lee's daughter Iris is now cooing and giggling. We all ended up at the playground to watch the volley ball games. I watched both Iris and Zion so their parents could play. The games were fun and exciting. Joan went to the mission tonight but Faith and Berlica stayed at the playground and helped get the fire started with lots of help of all the grandchildren. All the younger children were sent out to gather wood and the fire was used to keep us warm while the games continued under lights. It wasn't until the rain started that the volley ball players quit. Most of us had to walk home in the rain. Rhoda had baby Iris in the stroller and she was happy as can be in her winter outfit.
She didn't care that it was raining at all.
We had the wood burner going since this afternoon and the house feels toasty warm. The electric blanket has been turned on to warm up the bed.
Our airbnb guest left a nice review writing: “Like others travelers have noted, Judy's place is much better than the pictures! We chose this place so that we could bring our puppy along on the trip, and Judy was very accommodating, offering to set up a place for the pup in her horse stable. However, if we have the chance to stay in the area without our pup, we would likely stay here again, even with it being 25 minutes outside of the city center. What a spacious yet cozy getaway!”
