Stacy Update

Stacy the owner of Cieara (Lily x Raven) and Magnum (Lola x Valiant) sent new pictures of her 'babies'! She writes: Judy,
Thought you might want to see what these guys are up to. We got a wagon for Cieara to drive, and she does awesome!! Magnum is doing great on his ground work, and growing like a weed. We are doing a big hay ride in October, and a Bonfire. Should be fun.  Talk to you soon. Stacy

I'm actually shocked at how big Magnum is at just a year old because I know Cieara is 17 hands. He is going to catch up quickly. Thanks Stacy for the pictures and update. They both look great.
It looks like we will not be having puppies and that probably means No More Mastiff Pups for us ever. This was the last time we planned on breeding Emma. She still looked and acted like she was in labor last evening then at midnight she woke me all upset. She had left about a 9 inch diameter green wet spot on her sheet. I was sure she was having a puppy at that point. She was cleaning herself up, cleaning the sheet up but not straining or contracting like her first litter. Then for the next 3 hours this happened 3 more times. Each time we would have a small puddle of green liquid, she would work hard at cleaning it up and herself up and I would be watching carefully ready to help deliver a pup but never a pup. Around 3:00 am she was done, stretched out on her bed and started snoring. This was just bizarre. How could this dog have 4 bags of water but no pups, no afterbirth, no straining.  I'll be calling the vet first thing tomorrow to get Emma checked out. After a very short night, I felt comfortable leaving her for the day, she was not in distress at all. We had 2 visiting ministers today in church. The elder from Atlanta had the morning service and Brad from Tuscon had the afternoon service. The theme for the day seemed to be Mercy and Grace.
After church the barn air conditioner was turned on. It probably should have been turned on before we left for church but rain was predicted with a 60% chance of storms by noon so I didn't think it would get as hot as it did. The rain didn't come the sun was beating down strong hardly a cloud in the sky and it was HOT. We had a high of 92 degrees and the inside of the barn was 87 this afternoon.
Emily and Megan took George and Killian to Farmdale to meet up with the Cooksey's for a trail ride. The campers returned from Moraine View State Park to report they had a wonderful time.
The trails were thick mud but the 5 walkers did excellent. They thoroughly enjoy their jobs even going across a 50 foot swinging walking bridge successfully. Karin said a man came up and asked if these horses could be rented out. I think she ended up lending them out but not sure about that. Phil called after church to see if he could borrow the Kubota to get some of the landscaping done at the yellow (soon to be gray) house. His father-in-law was coming over to help. Mark and I worked hard to get the scraper off and the mower on. This is not an easy job the bush hog mower is old and the pto is hard to hook up. He was sweating big time by the time Phil and Dennis arrived. Dennis without realizing what we had just gone through looks at the tractor and says, "we should probably just take the mower off." Mark was pretty quick to convince him the mower should stay attached.
Karin and I drove over to Ruth's to check on Paris. Now Paris was just bred one time to Evan on August 16th, 2014. We looked her over and agreed she looks pregnant but not over due and not as big as she should be. About then I remembered Tyler needed a place for his mini stallion to stay until he could be gelded and Ruth let him bring him to their place. Ooops... Ruth said, "well I'm not going to pay a stud fee!" Fedi and Ruth thought it was impossible for the mini to get the job done on a horse but when there is a will there is a way. Not sure what kind of market a mini Arabian will have.
