Busy Farm Day

The weanlings (Lily's colt and Indy's filly) were happy to see me coming with the food and water this morning. I was pleased they hadn't dumped water bucket out during the night. Usually weanlings are so upset about being away from their dam's the water buckets get dumped regular. After the walk, the foaling stall was stripped of the straw and new bedding put down. Ella and her colt are now outside with Hadassah and Whitney and we needed to stall for Olivia. Her owner wants to breed her.  Olivia is Evan's very first foal ever, Jewel is her dam and as Jewel is a Raven daughter the only stallion available to breed her is Killian.  Emily had an appointment at ICC this morning but made it back in time before Olivia arrived. While we were waiting for Cynthia to arrive with Olivia we decided to get some new pictures of Ella's colt by Evan and Hadassah's filly by Evan. Hadassah and her filly were taken out first. She is very well put together and such a little show-off.

Below is Ella's 2 and a half day old colt.

He surprised us with how nice his movement is for such a young colt. Cynthia arrived right after we put the foals away. Emily took Olivia into the arena for some round pen reasoning and a riding refresher. Check out how beautiful this Evan daughter is at 3 years of age.

Anna arrived with the girls so the rest of the afternoon was spent outside playing until we all became hot and tired. Dr. Hoerr arrived to sonagram Olivia just after 5:00 pm and we were disappointed to find that she had already ovulated.
