After the walk Karin pulled out Oksana and Rosalie for some round pen reasoning. She always finishes up her training with trick training. Oksana is now at the point that when Karin asks her to bow and lay down she does it without fuss. Rosalie is only at the bow part but I was impressed with how quickly she went into the bow and how she held it until Karin asked her to stand. Pictures below are of Rosalie. She is now getting the bow with just the slightest pressure from Karin.
The lay down won't come until the bow is confirmed. We gave Oksana and Rosalie a good hose down then fly sprayed them before putting them back. The temperature is in the 90s today and very humid. The heat index was running around 110 degrees. Whitney was also hosed down and fly sprayed. Karin pulled Ribbon out next for vaulting practice. She is still in and showing so was covered by Valiant. Ribbon's filly Zara loves when vaulting starts, she likes the attention the vaulters give her and loves to be scratched.
Karin warmed Ribbon up in the indoor arena.
When she asked Ribbon for a canter, her filly would take off at a gallop.
The practice was held in the outdoor arena. Only half of the vaulters came today so they ended up with lots of horse time. Below they are all getting lots of canter practice.

Next she had them work on triples.
I didn't stay for the entire practice I had a few things that had to be done before Emily and I left for the vet clinic for sonagrams. We had a 12:30 pm appointment to have Marika and Jewel sonagrammed. Marika went first, the largest follicle was only around a 17 so we have at least a week to wait for her.
Jewel has a few multiple 20s and again that meant we will need to be teasing in a week or so.
It was a good lesson for both of the colts, they both loaded fine and had to stand tied. Marika's colt was better at leading. Jewel's colt is a typical Evan boy, he needs to be convinced that he must do it then he will but he is not happy about it.
Dr. Hoerr had a brand new brown Swiss bull calf at the office, it had not yet gotten up on his own or sucked yet. He stood up while we were there so Emily started to encourage him to suck on her finger until Dr. Hoerr got a bottle made up for him.
She has an amazing way with animals. Dr. Hoerr was thrilled. The registrations came today for the first batch of foals. We will need to mail just Anna's colt's papers to his owner since he is already at his new home. When we got home from the vet I noticed a plate on the kitchen floor and a bunch of very clean plastic wrap. At first I was confused about what that could be about until I realized Sarah's wedding cake was missing, the entire bottom layer had disappeared. Thankfully the top layer of the cake had been taken to Joan's and put in her freezer, since we don't have a freezer. The guilty culprit had to be Emma the dog. Darcy would never knock something off the counter and eat it but Emma on the other hand would definitely take advantage if something would accidentally fall off the counter by a nose bumping into it. But to eat an entire bottom layer of a wedding cake then lick the plastic off so it was spotless was just shocking. Maybe she really is eating for 10.
