He was there with her then 10 minutes later when she was ready to leave he was no where to be found and did not come when called. Very very unlike this dog who will not let Karin leave his sight. Karin searched but finally gave up and drove home. This morning she drove over to John and Beth's house to go searching again. Beth decided to get an umbrella out of her car to come search with her opened the car door and there was Studly. He had jumped in their open car window and made himself at home.
It was raining this morning which meant no walk which meant I could leave early for work, stop at Meister's, deposit a couple checks for Bridlewood Apartments, pick up the mail at TEMCO and stop at Sam's Club for our lunch before the rest of the volunteers arrived at the Berean office.
We had a light mail day because of the holiday. We can predict that each Tuesday after a holiday weekend our mail will be less than half the usual. We had 3 new volunteers come today. Each time someone new shows up we all feel like cheering. Many hands make light work and this means instead of working late into the afternoon we can get done hours earlier. Pam brought her mom Shirley and her son Ted to help out.
Joyce, Jan, Chuck and Shirley arrived and were promptly put to work reading letters.
Matthew, Ted and Gary worked on one side of the table stuffing Bibles.
While Marie, Justin and Timmy worked on the other side.
Mom came in a little later and had to take the corner spot. She was actually put to work taking the pictures but didn't take the one below, her arm isn't long enough for a selfie.
Joan arrived with her younger kids. Hannah was put to work with Megan on the copies.
While Mackenson and Berlica were put to work stamping envelopes.
The office was hopping and just a little bit noisy but so so productive.
We broke for lunch before noon. We could have done more except we ran out of the sleeves for the Bibles. We sent 25,000 of them over to Goodfield Bible Distribution earlier and now will need to ask for some back. We only had 186 request come in today and probably won't have more than 100 come in on Thursday. A huge thank-you to all who were willing to come help out for a few hours. After the letters were processed I ran to Aldi to pick up slivered almonds then Walmart for poppy seeds, both were needed for the wedding on Saturday.
Emily moved Sheena and her colt over to the cabin field to join Eliza and Emma. They were given an alfalfa bale and those three mares will need to be grained. The rest of the mares in the mare pasture are fat and get a grass bale and no grain. Ribbon was teased and did not show at all.
Mark came home a little late, we were eating a late supper of left-overs when mom called to ask if we had remembered to vote. Sad to say we had not remembered so we jumped in the car to get there before the polls closed. This is a special election to fill the spot Aaron Schock left when he resigned. We pulled out of the drive and realized Joan was following us. We thought mom must have called her too. When we walked into the polling place the election judge took one look at us and said, "did your momma send you?" Right about then Joan opened the door and walked in. We had to admit, yes our momma sent us. Turns out Diane, Spark and a few others had just left. Once we voted and were leaving the parking lot Rachel and Dave pulled in to go vote...you guessed it momma called them too.
