Ribbon Gets a Work Out

After the walk it was clean up time around the farm. We were having 2 groups of vaulters come today. The mares needed to be moved from the pond pasture into the big field and given a round bale.  Karin arrived just in time to help with both of those jobs. Her first group shows up each Monday just before 10:00 am. Her vaulting team is now so big she has to divide the practices into 2 with one group showing up on Monday and the other showing up on Wednesday. Taegan and Berlica are 2 of the Monday vaulting wannabees and Aunt Karin always lets them ride Ribbon out to the arena and sometimes even a bit more.
Megan is a new vaulter this year.
Hannah is our expert vaulter now that Bethany has married and moved on.
Below Hannah is explaining to Mackenson what is expected.

Below are 3 of the Monday vaulting wannabees

Three of the wannabees working on the barrel with Emily. We start them young!
Brealyn found a toad which is quite distracting to the little vaulters.
Ribbon's filly is such a sweet heart. She gets lots of attention on vaulting days.
This group finished at 11:00 am and headed over to Rachel's for Funday Monday. I went to work weeding the arena so it would look nice for the next group which was due at 1:00 pm. The Heart of IL Pony Club is holding their camp this week and asked if they could bring the D1 and D2 s out for a vaulting lesson. They were started on the barrel learning the correct way to mount and dismount.
Once they had practiced the different exercises on the barrel Karin moved them into the outdoor arena to work with Ribbon.

Many pictures were taken of their practice and are all posted on the Horsemeister Inc Facebook page. Below they are taking turns hosing off Ribbon while her filly wanders around hoping for some back scratches.
Emily had taken the 4 walkers (Bunni, Sally, Missy and Cookie) out to Middle Grove and brought back Sheena and her colt. Once Ribbon, Sheena and the foals were put with the other mares and foals in the pasture the PonyClubbers headed over to Diane's pond to cool off. They weren't there very long, a storm rolled in.
Shannon brought Jewely-Et back right before dinner. She is still in and covered by Evan. Isabella is also in but was covered yesterday. Tomorrow she will hopefully still be in and accept Evan. The best chance of pregnancy is to have the cover as close to ovulation as possible.
Vacation Bible school started tonight. Ryan Hoerr had the message, it was well worth being there. Another big storm came through during his lesson. The lights flickered but stayed on. It was pouring rain when we got out of church and kept raining all the way home. It was pouring when Marika was brought in just now. She is drenched and now I am too.
