This colt is going to be another dressage superstar like his sisters OR if you like to jump, this colt has the bone to hold up even with the higher levels. He was actually bred for combined training. His grandmother Grace was our very first eventing horse. I can still remember Karin galloping around the cross country course during the show flying over the jumps and Cathie remarking, "Grace has lost her mind and so has Karin!" As I remember though she won the division.
This morning Karin came to train horses to get her last horse fix for 10 days. She along with Sarah, Emily, Anni, Rachel, Jessica, David Jacob, Caleb and Jake are now all on their way to Iceland.
They hope to visit as much of the country as possible and see some of the amazing views.
I didn't take the picture above just did a google search on Iceland. I haven't been able to find out who did take the picture so if it is copyrighted please let me know and I'll remove it. But the person taking the picture should be proud, this is gorgeous!
Karin was most impressed with Rosalie's progress. She is learning very quickly what is expected and doing it without a fuss.
Oksana was worked with next and she was not quite as good, spooking a couple times.
Karin said, "she really is her mother's daughter." Eliza was the same when when she first came.
Next on the work list was Evan but Isabella needed to be teased first. She was out and Evan knew it. Good thing we covered her yesterday by him. Karin took Evan into the indoor while I gave Isabella a bath before calling her owners to tell them she could be picked up today. It turned out they can't come today and wouldn't you know as soon as Isabella was put back outside she had a good roll in the mud. Evan was great today, very low key and listening to Karin. We decided to put a tail bag on him to help keep the ever present mud off his tail. Emily brought out and put one on him before we put him back. Valiant was the last horse worked and he also got a new tail bag. We will need to order 6 more of these things for next winter.
Mom came over for a bit, everyone else out here is gone, just mom, Mark and I holding down the fort. Spark and Rhonda are in Gulf Shores, Mike and Diane are at Middle Grove, Rachel and the bunch are on their way to Iceland, and Joan is busy setting up at church. BTW Tomorrow is Jessica and Austin's wedding, Joan and Tim are serving lunch in Peoria so come on over for some good preaching, a good meal and a beautiful wedding.
