Soul Pregnant

We got an inch and a half of rain last night and another inch and a half today. It seemed like it rained on and off most of the day. Emily and I started loading mares right after 7:00 am in the rain. We were due at Dr. Hoerr's at 8:00 am. Sangria and Jurista were to be sonagrammed to find out if semen should be ordered from the owner of Glorioso, the Andalusian stallion and Soul was brought in to see if she was pregnant. Sangria had a 53 mm follicle on her ovary ready to pop and Jurista wasn't even close. The decision was made to leave Sangria at the vet clinic, order the semen to be shipped today so that it would arrive tomorrow morning. Dr. Hoerr will inseminate her Saturday morning, then ultrasound her again on Sunday morning just to make sure she ovulated. She was given a shot to make sure she ovulates within 48 hours. Soul was pronounced pregnant during her ultrasound. Another vet appointment was scheduled for Wednesday then Soul and Jurista taken back home.
Luna was covered by Evan then Emily left for her house sitting job. Karin had visitors today. Joan's 5 little Indians came over to prepare the ponies for war. We had a pony painting party here.

The rest of the pictures were placed on the Facebook page. The Indian's had a ride on their painted ponies before heading back to use their home made fishing poles to catch their dinner. By the way the teepee didn't leak last night. The Indians (and Joan) stayed dry all night long. Grandma cooked them all breakfast as the wood for the fire was drenched.
Karin's next group came around 5:00 pm for their scheduled trail ride. The 'death trails' were just too muddy and too dangerous so she took them across the fields then over to Ruth's and back.

This was the easiest group Karin has ever had, no screaming kids, and they all knew how to ride. Even though the trails could not be ridden they seemed to enjoy the evening.
Will and Jenni Moser were scheduled to come after supper to bring their mare Isabella in for breeding to Evan. They brought along Isabella's full brother Palmer so Karin could give them some pointers on the bit she uses. They also brought along a couple of friends to meet the horses.
Palmer is on the left and Isabella is on the right.
Isabella is in now and covered this evening. She had to be stalled, we just have no more paddocks.
Hopefully she will be out soon and won't have to stay too long in a stall. Marika is also stalled tonight, at least they have each other for company.
A beautiful picture came today of Eliza's 2014 filly by Valiant from her owner Amanda. Amanda writes:
I attached a couple of pictures I took on Mon. of Tryn and one with Tryn and my daughter. She is a very pretty girl!!! She has a beautiful head, and her mane is dead even with Rayje's as a two year old!
