On the Road Again

We were up at 4:00 am had all the chores done before 6:00 am and were on the road by 6:00 heading to Chicago with 2 colts. One was dropped off near Chicago and the other near Belvidere. Mark was the navigator and I was the driver. We made a good team. Gas up there was $3.87 a gallon. The first fill up was the route 24 exit and gas was only $3.45 a gallon and the final fill up was near Lacon at 3:36 a gallon and that fill up was $99.82 I could have topped it off and hit the $100.00 but didn't. Thank goodness I didn't need to fill up near Chicago. I forgot to take a picture of Prince with his new owner but did with King.

Both couples were very happy with their purchase.  We stopped for a very late lunch at a Mexican restaurant in Chillicothe and brought enough home for a couple more meals tomorrow.  Mom was having a good day, Karin had her out on the deck for a while. She also got her a different kind of wheel chair, this one has more support. My shift was from 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm today. The people that rented the apartment tonight cancelled and the man coming to pick up Hadassah was GLAD to have the chance to stay there. He thought they would arrive around 7:00 pm but didn't get here until after 8:00 pm then instead of going straight up the hill turned left and ended up with his big truck and 4  horse trailer at mom's house.  There is no turn around there so I wasn't sure how we were going to get him to the right place but gooseneck trailers can turn much sharper than a bumper pull and after a few tries he was turned around and followed me to the barn. We made arrangements to meet at 7:00 am tomorrow and they were glad to just head straight to bed. It was a very long day for them.
