Smarties

It was warm enough this morning to walk without a heavy winter jacket. I just used a Horsemeister sweat shirt. After the walk mom and I left for the DMV in Peoria. It was time for mom to renew her license. She has to go every year now. She wanted someone to go with her because she didn't want to walk in with a walker but none of us blamed her for that. She can drive very well but walking...not so good. She took her stick today and left the walker home. Below she is waiting to be called for the eye test.

We were glad they gave her a chair. The chairs that used to be lined up were all removed because of covid. People were lined up all the way out of of the building as they were trying to keep the social distance rule. Mom was treated very well, they didn't make her wait for getting her picture taken then they found her the chair while she waited for her eye test. After that was passed they had her move the car into one of the reserved spots then sit out there and wait for an instructor. It took about 20 minutes for the instructor to show up. Below she is pulling out of the parking lot.
and they were on their way.
She passed with flying colors. We had to go back inside and wait while someone brought her the new license. From there we drove to the church to pick up two tubs Leona needed to find a home for. Mom gave me her church key to get in to the church and into the quilting room. We made it home before noon. Today I shopped on line and bought smarties, those rolls of church candy. On Sunday Israel came up after lunch to ask for some and I didn't have any. I had run out a while ago and thought I could just pick a big bag of them up at Sam's club but they no longer carry them. Of course Kathy Huthmann was right there to hand them out. That just isn't acceptable, she already IS the favorite aunt, I need to be the favorite church candy lady so I ordered a 5 pound bag. Hopefully it will be here before Sunday but realistically the candy won't arrive until March 17th and we leave for Gulf Shores on the 19th so won't have any bragging rights about being the church candy lady until we get home from Gulf Shores for Easter.  Galena was put in the field for a couple hours, she had a good roll which helps put the foal in the right position but her udder is no bigger than a few days ago. Oksana is still in with Evan and both are content. There is no squealing or anything else going on at least in daylight.  Mark drove mom, Diane and I to church tonight. Gregg Rumbold had the message. I drove home though Mark was really tired. He worked on cleaning up the brush piles from the trees he took down after work.
